I broke the code!

Ok, so somehow I managed to mess up the password to the blog. I guess I could have just used the "forgot password" link but I had this crazy idea I would remember it. Don't ask me why that seemed like a better idea...eventually I just used the link. I still have no idea what the password was. I picked something I would certainly never forget (I thought), but it has seeped out of what is becoming a more porous brain.

Thanks to those of you who were able to help at Refuge of Nations. Tim sent a thank you letter as well. Here is something to keep in mind if you are anticipating a boring summer: Tim always needs help during the summer and would be glad to have you join him on a regular basis. It would be a great way to live out a life of justice and mercy (Mic 6:8). If you have any questions give me a call. See you all Sunday.

Work Day and other things to note...

I was browsing for something work-day related to put in the post and this is the best I could find. Nothing says fun like a cat driving a lawnmower...right?...huh?...anyone?

So anyway, Work Day is Saturday. I'll be dusting off my overalls and having a good ole' time. (overalls are not required but always appreciated)

Also, of great importance is the RYM packet deadline on May 6th. If you have placed a deposit and still plan to go you need to get me your forms and payment by that date.

Lastly, I hope to see you all tomorrow night for youth group. See you then.

Diaper Drive...

I hope everyone had a restful weekend and is ready to go for another week. Just think, one week closer to summer break. Since there were no evening services, I had the rare pleasure of watching two hours worth of "Nature" on PBS. It was AWESOME!

On another note, I want to be sure and remind everyone about the diaper drive for Refuge of Nations. We are still collecting diapers to take with us on the 25th. Bring any size and either give them to me or you can put them in the bin in the west entryway to the church. Last month, Tim and the folks at R.O.N. were very appreciative and said that there were just enough diapers for everyone there.

Enjoy your day off (if you have one) and I'll see you on Wednesday.

What day is it?

Is it really Friday? What a week! Early in the week I had the "deer in the headlights look" as I realized I had about 8 papers left to write. Fortunately my lovely wife encouraged me with the words, "that's only 2 a week." Thanks. Really though, I know I'm pretty much living in ya'alls world with the loads of work you guys have to do so we should remember to keep praying for each other as we try to be faithful in all the things we are trying to do.

That aside, don't forget that this Sunday is Easter and that instead of Sunday School there will be a church reception in the Fellowship Hall (can you say yummy food?). There is a Sunrise Service at the Edward's House at 6:30 (no really, that is the right time) and there will be snacks following it so that you can get your blood sugar back up for the big service at 8:15 (and 11). Or, you can make plans with Josephus to time your church arrival to hit the Sunrise Service snacks right after my homily...I've got my eye on you Josephus :) By the way, if you are walking to the Edward's House, I understand there was a large puddle there but you can ask Forrest about that.

Lastly, someone left a white plate in the sub-basement last week. It had brownies on it (they are gone), was washed, and then someone ate a hamburger on it (?) and left their mayo-covered tomato. Thanks for that...I do love tomatoes. If it is yours, you can claim it by sending me the serial number listed on the bottom for ownership-confirmation.

See you Sunday.
