Valentines Day is upon us and you know what thatmeans?...Game Night at Covenant Youth Group (Game night is of course the universally accepted symbol of true love)!
You can join us for an evening of valentine games on the 14th from 6-8. Most of that time will be in the sub-basement but, word on the street is that a new game has been developed that involves the scooters. If it helps any, your local youth intern was not involved in the planning of the games so they should actually be fun (but seriously though, I had a good run with Oofta and Bodgeball if I may say so).
I have received word from the Valentine-game-night-triumverate
regarding the night's events and instead of re-writing them I will post them as I
received them from our resident WWII scholar:
"...there is going to be an astoundingly awesome game to played and food of some kind and be sure to bring your girl/boy-friend(s) or wife/husband, because we need plenty of both. And add this picture, not for my own amusement, but because I was commanded."
You can interpret that as best you can. The picture is added below, but I think that this is a good time for us all to say a prayer on behalf of our Robin-hood-lovin'-frappacino- guzzlin'-mac-hater...

He's not a scholar.
Yet.
I never commissioned that picture to be displayed. This particular one makes me wail aloud. For it embodies a realm of possibilities, a host of "might-have-beens," a multitude of probablies, that will tragically never come to pass. It is the final seal of the decree that dashes the hopes and dreams of not only one man, but those of hundreds of thousands who were influenced mightily by him. And his legacy is summed up in only one brief sentence. Woe of woes and ten thousand more woes. I'd like a moment of silence here...
As you resume your daily duties, please fondly remember our national hero Errol Flynn in your heart.
What's this about bringing boyfriends? I don't have one, so does that mean I cannot come?
-Me
No you can come. I have "girl" friends but no girlfriend. I'm sure you have "boy" friends.
Marcasomethingsomething you did say whatever it takes to get an Errol Flynn picture on here, so I got one.
Very funny, very funny.
and I would have expected you, our resident history expert, to know why I used that username
Military. Military history. And I don't know why you used it.
Some people just expect too much. . .
Yes!!! Military history!! Exactly!!! Ever heard of a guy named, erm, Julius Caesar? Kind of an ancient Roman dude?
SOME people... never mind. "Oh, you take delight in vexing me." (And that is a direct quote, movie anyone?)
Wow... you actually got pretty close. The quote was from the authoritative version of Pride and Prejudice.
Wow I can't believe Stuart still can't figure it out.
I guess I should have mentioned modern military history. I don't care too much about that old stuff.
And hey, I don't have school today.
I'm sorry I have a prefered time period in history that I like.
I don't like Shakespeare, and I wasn't trying to be special. Today's snow day seems like a waste, so far we've only gotten 3-4". Near me at least.
"I don't like Shakespeare."
I have nothing further to say.
You don't get excited about him either? I thought I was the only one.
