Parade worthy...

I wanted to be sure and say thanks to those of you who were able to go to Refuge of Nations last night. Thank you for the way you all served those families. It is a great testimony of what the Lord is doing in you.

I will be out of town until Sunday night but I hope you all have a great weekend, and I look forward to seeing you Wednesday night.

kaboom!

OK, so I promise this is the last time I will mention my bracket woes, but seriously, it pretty much went nuclear when Kansas lost. I should have known better...

All whining aside, I hope you all are having (or did have, or will have, etc) a great spring break. Don't forget that you can join us for free Chick-fil-a at the "dove" mall today at 11:30. You will need a church bulletin (for the Chick-fil-a people, not for me).

Lastly, please note that Wednesday we are going to Refuge of Nations again. We leave at 6 on Wednesday and will be back at 9:15. Remember to bring diapers (for the Refuge of Nations free store, not for me).

See you'uns soon.

My bracket...arrrghhhhh!

Ok, so I haven't said anything about it since Sunday, but seriously! What was Wisconsin thinking? My bracket is in shambles, in fact, Noah may have well stopped calculating my points...oh well, at least I still have my memories of being co-captain...never mind.

So tonight is game night and I understand that the games will be epic. I know that there are glow-sticks involved and nothing says fun like a glow-stick.

I hope you can come.

I will post on this later, but don't forget that we are collecting diapers for Refuge of Nations. Any size is fine. You can drop them off for me in the office right now but we also need to make a box for the church entryway. If anyone has a creative side and would like to make a poster, let me know.

See you tonight.

No need for alarm...?

OK, so if anyone happened to hear what sounded like clanking, skidding, crashing or other noises of general mayhem yesterday do not be alarmed. It was probably just the sound of the wheels coming off of my bracket in the first round. C'mon Duke! You too Texas Tech!!!...Hope everyone else is faring better than I am.

See you Sunday.

Let the madness begin...

For the record, I am in fact referring to the NCAA basketball tournament. As Noah announced on Sunday, we are about to start the Covenant-Youth NCAA Basketball Bracket
Competition. You can print off a bracket here then fill it out and give it to Noah who will score it as the tourney goes on. Try and get it to him by Wednesday and be sure that you predict a final score on the championship game in the case of a tie-breaker. There will be a prize (I promise they will not be thrift store purchases) for first, second, third and last place. If you are having trouble deciding what teams to pick you can either do extensive research, flip a coin or ask Cole, er, I mean the "Norminator"(!?). Of course I think his answer to every game will be "Florida". If you have no idea what I am talking about then you can click here for more info.

I think my bracket will do much better than usual thisi year since my Sooners are watching the event from home. Now I won't make unwise picks based only on the vain hope that OU will one day be more than just a football school.

OK, so enough about all of that. Youth group is on as normal this week (Wednesday, 6-8 in the sub-basement) and I hope to see you all there. If all goes as planned we will be enjoying some time outside. Toodles...

Throw, throw, pass...

So it seems that there is a common theme amongst us. Every time I ask someone how they are doing it seems like the answer is something like, "things are crazy busy and I'm tired" followed
by a looooonngg list of the assignments/activities/life-stuff you guys are trying to keep up with. I think I can say with all sincerity that I totally understand.

So, if you need some help in becoming a better juggler you can always start here for an intro. But in the event that doesn't really help, we should all make a special effort to pray for each other as he head into mid-term season.

Lastly (for now) please note that Deacon-Youth visitation is coming up on the 17th. See you all on Sunday.

Bravo!

Thanks to those of you who helped at the Missions Banquet last night. I really appreciate the ways in which you all are quick to serve your church. It is a real encouragement to me, a blessing to others in the church and a tangible way to demonstrate the Gospel!

See you all Sunday.

Happy birthday to one crazy cat...

Ok, so some of us have had this ongoing discussion over the relative greatness of writers such as Austen and Hemingway but this may be our moment of literary unity. Seriously, what a fun book. Happy birthday to you Mr. Cat-in-the-hat! If you would like a taste of Seussville, try this.

Thanks to everyone who was able to go to Refuge of Nations last night. I was very encouraged by you all and I suspect the folks at R.O.N. were as well.

See you all Sunday!
